Moves Help

How does Moves use M7?

Moves uses Apple’s M7 co-processor, which is found in iPhone 5s for example, to track steps, walking, and running in a battery-efficient way.

Moves also collects location and raw acceleration samples to recognize bicycling, places and routes.

For new users, Moves doesn’t use the activity history from M7, because Moves also needs location data to produce its daily Storylines.
